Maryna arrived in the United States from Belarus in 2007, she spoke no English and was only planning to stay long enough to make $5,000 before returning home. When she met her husband Adam those plans had changed. Only three months after meeting, Maryna and Adam married and have been together ever since. They have two daughters, Nellie 16 and Nadia 8 years old, and live in Eliot, Maine.

In 2013, the CEO of Aroma Joe’s was planning to franchise and asked Maryna, who was Marketing Director for Subway of Maine, if she would like to open the first franchise. Now, she owns twelve Aroma Joes locations, in Kittery, Saco, Gorham, South Sanford, and surrounding towns. She also currently works as Chief Operations Officer at Acadia Management Group overseeing multiple QSR concepts.

She is passionate about the community and has a long history of giving back by conducting fundraising, working with local parent-teacher organizations, or awarding student achievements through social media. She has been a member of the Kittery Rotary for eight years and served as a president in 2020-2021. She is a member of multiple Chambers of Commerce and serves on the YCCC Foundation Board.

Maryna just completed her PhD in International Businesses with specialization in International Marketing.

She consults small business owners in areas of local and digital marketing, strategic growth, and employees’ motivation.

She gives inspirational talks to students at many different schools around the state of Maine, and she also teaches business and marketing courses at Great Bay Community College and Southern New Hampshire University
